Friar Maximilian

(from Act 1, Scene 6, The Queen's Knight, 1996, book and lyrics by Fr. Joel Camaya, SDB, music by Jude Gitamondoc)

Superior:

Friar Maximilian Mary--

Henceforth your name shall always be!

Son of Francis of Assisi

May you be so in eternity.

In this momentous race

You are blessed, so much blessed, with God's grace.

There's a choice that you made:

Take it now, be not afraid.

O my son, behold, your fate is laid,

O my son, behold, your fate is laid!

So now, Maximilian Mary,

You a Franciscan shall always be.

We see great promise in you;

You're the one among the chosen few.

In this momentous race

You are blessed, so much blessed, with God's grace.

There's a choice that you made:

Take it now, be not afraid.

O my son, behold, your fate is laid,

O my son, behold, your fate is laid!

Friar Maximilian Mary--

Henceforth your name shall always be!

Son of Francis of Assisi

May you be so in eternity.
